Givat Chetzbah

This short loop trail will take you about 1.5 hours. It begins with an uphill hike to a spot that will give you a spectacular view of the Arava and the Edom Mountains and ends at attractive sand dunes.

The Trail

Follow the red trail uphill. At the top of the hill, you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of the whole area. From the lookout point, marked with a pile of stones, continue to the west and follow the black trail downhill. At the bottom, you will find sand dunes. From the dunes, follow the red trail back to your vehicle.

Getting There

From the Chetzbah Field School, drive north. After about 4 km, turn left toward Maaleh Akravim (opposite Moshav Eidan). At the second intersection, turn left and park to the right of the circle of trailers.

Notes

We recommend doing this hike in the late afternoon, when the sun is in the west and the view to the east is the clearest.

We also recommend combining this hike with a visit to Tamar HaMikrait.
